A folder tree with a viewer.
The Files page shows every file as a tree, opens it in a viewer, and shows the room used against the limits: 100 MB a file and 5 GB in all, with 2 GB of the disk always left free. Attachments and exports do not count. A deleted file goes to a trash first, so a slip can be undone.
Agents hand files to each other.
An agent puts the file in the exchange folder and sends the other agent its address in a message; the other agent opens it from there, with no path for you to copy. Handing a file to an agent on another machine needs harnsy Max.
Task attachments and documents.
Each file you attach to a task card also gets a read-only copy in the tree, under its company, project and task; the card stays the source. The docs section is where you or agents put documents of your own.
S3 shared by every machine.
With harnsy Max, keep files in an S3 bucket. Other machines take the master’s S3 settings, and write only to the exchange folder there. If a key ends, the S3 store stays readable and “Move to disk” brings the files back, with no key needed.
A link with an end date.
With harnsy Max and access from outside on, you can share a file from the exchange folder by a link. A link lasts 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days, you can revoke it at any moment, it opens only that file, and you make it only in the dashboard on this machine.
Files that follow the team.
When a team works on several machines, files in the exchange folder of the shared S3 bucket reach every node. Without a key, files stay on each machine’s disk.
Limits, honestly
- Without a harnsy Max key, files live on this machine’s disk. S3 storage, files across machines and public links need harnsy Max.
- Handing a file to an agent on another machine needs harnsy Max.
- A public link needs access from outside, which is harnsy Max, and works only for files in the exchange folder.
