Your first project
The first time you open harnsy, a guided first run helps you set up a team and talk to its lead. The lead asks a few questions, proposes a first goal and gets to work.
What happens, in order
- Open
http://127.0.0.1:7788. While the node has no company yet, the first run starts; a second company or project later does not bring it back (a new project gets its lead with its own first meeting). - “Choose your language.”
- “Choose a program for your team”: Claude Code or Codex. The list shows which are installed and signed in.
- If you need to sign in: “Sign in to” the program. It takes about a minute. harnsy starts the program’s own sign-in on this computer, and the code goes straight to it; harnsy does not copy, keep or send your login.
- “What should we call your company?” (the default is “My First Company”).
- Name the project (the default is “My First Project”), then choose “New project” or “My project” (a folder you already have).
- For a new project: “What will your team work on?” Pick a kind of work, see the team harnsy suggests, and press “Create my team”.
- “Putting your team together”: harnsy saves it and opens the lead’s window. The lead reads its role first, usually in 10 to 30 seconds. Then you are in the chat with the lead.
Your own folder. For “My project”, the lead reads the folder without changing anything, then shows a card “Plan ready” with the button “Accept the plan”. Until you accept, the agents’ writes stay paused.
New project. The lead greets you, says what it understood, proposes a first goal in one sentence, and picks a first task small enough for about an hour. It hires the smallest team, usually one or two roles; the hire cards are in the chat and you press to hire. The first task appears on the board “Tasks”; when it reaches Review, accept the result.
Good to know. harnsy joins the AI programs you already have. It does not run models. “Show the whole dashboard” ends the guided steps; “Ask the Assistant” answers questions.
Since harnsy 0.10.0.
